Job Description:
As an R&D Design and Implementation Machine Learning Engineer specializing in drones, your primary objective is to conceptualize and execute the embedded autonomous navigation algorithm for drones. The overarching aim is for the drone to be able to follow specific navigation-related commands, making it fully autonomous to execute various missions. These missions include take-off and reaching the designated flight altitude, visually recognizing desired targets (objects, path trajectories, etc.), navigate autonomously until a specific destination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop computer vision algorithms and autonomous navigation systems for drones and implement them in real-life use-cases.
- Collaborate with the AI team to fully automate data collection. This involves designing autonomous flights and establishing data exchange, including principal telemetry and image transmission, with ground stations.
- Maintain organized repositories and document all the resources produced (code, data, etc.)
Qualifications:
Must haves:
- Proven proficiency in python
- Excellent background in machine learning theory
- Proven track record in computer vision projects
- Prior experience with embedded systems (e.g. raspberry pi, jetson nano, etc.)
Ideally: - Previous experience Mavlink.
- Experience in PX4, ArduPilot is an asset.
- C/C++ programming
One or more of the following skills would also be appreciated: - Experience in GUI desktop for the ground control.
- PCB & FPGA design.
- Real-time operating systems.
- Microcontrollers (e.g., Atmel, Cortex architecture).
- Microcontroller architecture and firmware implementation (to be discussed).
